FOOOOOOOLLLLSSSSSS OOOOVVVVVEEEERRRRR!!! Wow!
No better way to forget your worries then to indulge in a Do-Over like the one we had this past Sunday. From Haycock’s tank top tropical boogie to Juan Maclean’s bouncy burger service throwdown to Craze’s super flashback to Nick Catchdubs’ slice of non-gongable classics to A-Trak’s sunglasses at night two plus hours of sweaty sexy and at times yachty jams… it was a intimate slice of heaven. Special thanks to Azul for holding down the hosting duties for a second week in a row. You never know what to expect and weeks like this reinforce the creed that you need to arrive early and stay late to get your fill.
Without going into extra specific details, we will let the photos, videos and DJ sets do the talking.

This past Sunday marked another milestone for Do-Over as we made our grand debut in The Pacific Northwest for The Do-ORver aka Do-Oregon and what a debut it was. This was the first of a three part series for Portland (Aug 22nd & Sept 19th) which will feature a rotating cast of mystery guests alongside local hero’s. For the debut, we brought with us J.Rocc and Gaslamp Killer who are not only two of our favorite DJ’s, but also best represent the overall vibe of The Do-Over alongside Portland’s finest DJ Kez. The moment we hit the patio at Produce Row, we knew we found our home away from home. The vibe was as good as it could possibly get right on down to our signature sangria. Even the neighbors got in on the action as loft dwellers danced in their loft as well as on the rooftop as GLK created havoc with his beat brigade and J.Rocc took guests on a journey to The White House of The Funky President. A very special thanks to adidas for supporting our vision and making sure the good folks of Portland got done-over.
We have even more tricks up our sleeve for Sunday August 22nd so save the date.

For the first time ever The Do-Over took place in two places at once. We are doing it again this week with some extra heavy lineups in LA and Portland too. Since we are sitting on the beach in Puerto Rico still, we are going to write this recap based on pictures, videos and twitter noise we heard over the past week. I guess this is what the future has for us lazy asses….
Anyways, Azul 213* took over the hosting duties and served up some fine photos as well as videos. Follow the links below to get those. Big ups to all the DJ’s that covered for us in our absence – Mixmaster Noah, Azul, C-Minus, Steve1der and Fashen. We heard it was serious stuff gawn down. Also, big belated bday wished to our homie Daym!
A more accurate explanation of things will come with next weeks LA recap. Haycock is flying back to run the show and keep the DJ’s fed behind the decks.

First things first… when the very mega special guest drops a tweet about playing The Do-Over before we open, it’s likely people will take notice and things will get out of hand. This was obviously the case this past Sunday so apologies to all who were stuck outside.
Moving on, it was a hot day in the backyard. Haycock “fired it up” with some freaky beats handing the wheel off to his brother from the same mother, Waldo. After 2 hours of finely crafted yacht and 80′s moods, the place was packed and buzzin. Curtis Vodka paid us a visit with some deeper nuggets which is always very welcome. Finally, after years of correspondence and missed opportunities, we were proud to have DJ Jazzy Jeff step to it. Joined by Skillz on the mic, he really crafted a nice set fitting the mood of The Do-Over perfectly. A tough act to follow, but who better to follow than DJ Revolution, who closed it out with a tremendous ride through hip hop classics.
As you may have heard, The Do Crew is on the road for the next couple of weeks BUT we will be at Cranes every Sunday with some Do-Over approved and certified fill ins. Sure we will be totally homesick and missing our LA people while cruising Puerto Rico for a week but don’t worry… things will be extra heavy at Cranes for the next two Sundays. You’ve been advised!
