What a weekend it was… The Sleep-Over did not prove to be sleepy at all. From Saturday until the wee hours of Sunday morning, we pretty much showed the quiet town of Palm Springs, California how The Do-Over family gets down. Big thanks to all who ventured from as far as Belgium, our traveling LA circus and to those who rode their bikes from their homes in Palm Springs.
Many thanks to Red Bull Music Academy, adidas Originals, The Ace Hotel and of course our crew of DJ’s, photographers and videographers: Azul, DJ Day, Classixx, Billy Goods, LeFtO, DJ Pubes, Induce, Waldo, Morse Code, Han Cholo, Chris Laughter (VideoMouse), Al Myers, Connie and Rachel (The Ace) and AJ.
Happy 2011 from all of us to all of you… We really set the bar quite high with the infamous New-Over New Years Day party this year. We can’t wait to really do this big this year and have plenty of things coming your way, wherever you may be…
Thanks to Diplo, J.Rocc, Jack Beats, Jeremy Sole, Life and b-day boy Rockwell for the amazing selections. Thanks to Mark and Johnny and all at Jane’s House. Super big thumbs up to the 1,200+ people that braved those ugly hangovers to make their January 2nd even more painful.

For the first time ever The Do-Over took place in two places at once. We are doing it again this week with some extra heavy lineups in LA and Portland too. Since we are sitting on the beach in Puerto Rico still, we are going to write this recap based on pictures, videos and twitter noise we heard over the past week. I guess this is what the future has for us lazy asses….
Anyways, Azul 213* took over the hosting duties and served up some fine photos as well as videos. Follow the links below to get those. Big ups to all the DJ’s that covered for us in our absence – Mixmaster Noah, Azul, C-Minus, Steve1der and Fashen. We heard it was serious stuff gawn down. Also, big belated bday wished to our homie Daym!
A more accurate explanation of things will come with next weeks LA recap. Haycock is flying back to run the show and keep the DJ’s fed behind the decks.

We spoke amongst ourselves following last Sunday and realized we haven’t had that much fun in some time at The Do-Over. The formula of lots of good folks, stiff drinks and stand out music does equate to Do-Over success. Even though the Lakers lost, we still lived by the motto of “win or lose we booze”.
Do-Over’s Haycock kicked the day off with a mix in the grindy 70 bpm range bringing the roots, bass, dub, rock and other flavors for the first few hours. Azul followed with a short and set sweet as he warmed up the crowd for his hosting duties. Team Wino, following a successful AIDS Lifecycle ride from SF took over for the next few hours. Tim Love Lee, Timeteo and Toph One showed us how its done… Toph even played Haycock and Strong’s special selected bags as he usually does. Next up, our man Blu Jemz sparkled things up a bit and brought it home as we all realized how tipsy we were getting. Lastly, the one we have now coined as “Mr. Encore,” King Britt took on a long ride through all sorts of classic tunes.
Let’s get hyped for this week’s Comb-Over aka Fathers Day celebration. It’s sure to get very twisted. Perhaps some new daddies will be made as a result.
