Win or Lose We Booze. That was definitely the motto this past Sunday as we turned the Lakers L from loss into liquor. Thankfully we had acclaimed producer Recloose all the way live from New Zealand (via Detroit) to pick up our moods and kick off our Sunday shoes after the game as he blessed us with 2 hours of disco, boogie & house. Prior to that, long time Do-Over favorites Jayceeoh & House Shoes got things so lively during the game that one almost forgot there was a game and could have easily mistaken the NBA for Nonstop Bangers Alert. To set the entire day off right and help create the perfect vibe, we called in the disco dons Ron & Dan aka The Cosmic Kids to bless us with their feel good cosmic grooves.
Apologies for those who have been waiting patiently for the DJ Sets from this Season, but our resident audio archivist Aloe Blacc also moonlights as a pop star and unfortunately has been quite busy conquering the world. If you don’t believe us, check out Aloe’s live performance on France’s biggest TV Show (Eminem performed last week & P Diddy performed this week): http://canalstreet.canalplus.fr/musique/live-du-grand-journal/aloe-blacc-en-live-dans-le-grand-journal-i-need-a-dollar. With that being said, Aloe and the sets will be available soon.
This Sunday will be a very special one as we welcome an All-Star Cast of out of town guests making the trek (some literally) via SF, NYC & Philly. Plus, the Lakers Game will be broadcast on 2 TV’s (indoor + outdoor). Where else can you party outside, listen & dance to good music, enjoy drinks & good times with your friends, all the while rooting on your favorite team?

As autumn arrives, the sangria goes down a bit differently. We can’t put our finger on it, perhaps it’s because of shorter days or the impending briskness. Regardless, it satisfies just as well as it did back in May. At least we still have a months worth of Sundays left to enjoy our burgundy fraught carafes before The Do-Over hiatus, which lasts until next May (with a couple special editions sprinkled in for good measure).
With that in mind, now is the time!
This past Sunday, we repped it a tad more uptempo and it felt right. Early disco and boogie from The Cosmic Kids set the mood for things to come. All the way from Brussels, Lefto brought the future sounds into Sake One, who drove down that day from the Bay for an exclusive appearance. One of the more exciting house masters to experience, Karizma, brought it in serious fashion. Last but not least, long time Do-Over regular and music professor, Jun, closed out the night just right.
This upcoming Sunday marks the annual Shirt-Over aka Hit+Run vs. Do-Over which will feature some exciting designs and music from some special birthday folks and artists involved in upcoming releases we have in the pipeline, not to mention a very major special guest. This is your one chance to get your very own Do-Over themed t-shirt. Mix n’ match designs to make it uniquely your own.
Free shirts to the first 100 people. ARRIVE EARLY!

Ahhh… Fall is in the air: the tempature is cooler, nighttime falls earlier and The Do-Over is getting ready to hibernate, but that doesn’t stop us from going out with a bang. The Cosmic Kids opened things up Sunday with a wicked display of cosmic disco, boogie, & house madness. If that didn’t wet your palate, then a live performance by the legendary Large Professor (Main Source, Nas, Busta Rhymes, Erik B & Rakim, Kool G Rap, etc) surely did with J.Rocc on the decks (Peep: djmikeb.blogspot.com/2008/10/why-is-do-over-best-party-in-la.html). With the difficult task of following this performance, the Funky President dropped a mind blowing impromptu set of records handed to him from Jamie Strong’s bag. DJ Spider made his Do-Over debut a memorable one with a party rocking set for the ages. Rounding out the evening was another hometown hero making his Do-Over debut, DJ Mishaps with the extra funky goodness. Special thanks to everyone who did-over The Do-Over by checking out Haycock @ LAX.
The Final Two: With all of the amazing guests and times we’ve had over the last 4 years, it’s hard to imagine we could possibly outdo ourselves, but this Sunday will be another legendary episode of The Do-Over as we get to cross off another name on our Dream List of DJ’s. It will be a slam dunk of a day indeed and not to be missed so come early, stay late, and shake your groove thang.
