Something magical was definitely in the air this past Sunday at The Do-Over. From all of the Leo’s in the house (Happy Bday Valida, Pudge & Al Myers) to Drez backed by live percussionists to Broken Beat Don Daz I Kue tearing up the dancefloor to Morsy closing it out New York style. The magic didn’t stop there as Houdini appeared in the form of a one-handed DJ Set from PUDGE to the presence of greatness with Detroit House Legend Terrence Parker putting on a clinic. It was a special day indeed, but if you weren’t there, you can live vicariously through our DJ Sets so step into our world for a day.

NEWS FLASH:
This Sunday you won’t want to miss as we welcome back one of our favorite out of town guests, a first timer from NYC, a local hero and another guest we can’t even announce before, during or after The Do-Over so the only way to experience it is to show up.

2008: Week Seventeen Recap

(Recap of Sunday September 7, 2008)

Jeremy Ellis

Jeremy Ellis

We are saddened to announce the recent loss of a good friend to The Do-Over Family. DJ Primo of Brazil recently passed from complications due to pneumonia. We would like to extend our condolences to his family and friends. In 2007, Do-Over was quite fortunate to have him bless us with his presence when he DJ’d with his good friend DJ Nuts. In his honor, we would like to share his set. RIP DJ Primo.

WARNING: Crane’s Tavern officially has their liquor license. Four years and millions of gallons of sangria later, The Do-Over now has a full bar. Mondays just got a whole lot worse.

They say summer is over… yeah right. The Do-Over redefines the seasons and last week was proof. As football took over the TV’s and the full bar at Cranes reared its ugly head, we pulled off another extraordinary day of music and stumbling like only we can do. As Haycock disappeared for the first few hours celebrating a Bills opening week win, Aloe ‘Cuica’ Blacc made his DJ debut as he kept the early-goers moving. Next up J1 rocked an extra diverse set of all things smooth. DJ Drez came through for his first ever Do-Over appearance; dropping that worldly rough vibe we all love him for. Hip-hop history book cover queen, Spinderella followed suit with an extended set of party rockin jams covering all styles. Finally, the most recent transplant from The D, Jeremy Ellis (aka Ayro) did an impromptu live set that will forever go down in history. He pulled out the drum pads and recreated beats like nobody has ever done before, banging away with his elbo, hip, and chin all the while in key. It was a sight to see and left folks w/ their jaws on the floor.

Yes yes y’all… The new and improved Do-Over welcomes a FULLY STOCKED full bar this Sunday… Bloody Mary’s? Margaritas? Oh my oh my… Do we need to say more? Lots of special guest DJ’s this week and some big birthdays… Arrive early to avoid frustration.

Whatcha’ Wanna Do? Do-Over!
