What has been a long time in the making, finally came to fruition this past Sunday as we gave you a preview of things to come from The Do-Over Crew which includes a series of limited music and art from Do-Over guests. The first volume features two of our favorite producers (and guests over the years) Flying Lotus and House Shoes with artwork courtesy of the amazing Steven Harrington. To celebrate the occasion, Fly Lo, Shoes and Steven got down and dirty dropping serious heat alongside Balearic Mike and DJ Craze who absolutely destroyed it. It’s not a true celebration unless Hit+Run is in the house so the homies came down for our annual Tee-Over creating custom Do-Over concoctions for you to wear. What better way to end the evening with House Shoes playing the theme song to Cheers…
“Making your way in the world today takes everything you’ve got.
Taking a break from all your worries, sure would help a lot.
Wouldn’t you like to get away?
Sometimes you want to go
Where everybody knows your name,
and they’re always glad you came.
You wanna be where you can see,
our troubles are all the same
You wanna be where everybody knows
Your name.”
And that in essence is The Do-Over my friends.
With only five Do-Over’s remaining in 2009 (Nov 1st: Boo-Over), we suggest you get while the gettin is good. We are closing out strong so you never know what mystery guests will await you from here on out.

This past Sunday captured the true essence of The Do-Over with a diverse cast of all-stars rocking the house: Adam 12, Dam-Funk, The Gaslamp Killer, Ohmega Watts, DJ Dez aka Andres of Slum Village & House Shoes. June Gloom-Over couldn’t even keep the masses away from getting done-over as it was packed from sun up to sun down and another crazy Do-Over. Somehow, these next few weeks we have even more craziness lined up for you so you won’t want to miss the surprises in-store. The Lake Show will also be on the tube.

Whew. We did it! Somehow we survived another six months of getting done-over and what a past six months it has been. Season Four of The Do-Over was indeed a special one. One quick look at our mystery guests from this year and it could easily be mistaken for a lineup at Coachella (and for free!?!). It’s hard to believe we’ve been so fortunate to have such an amazing cast of artists/dj’s bless us at The Do-Over, but that is a testament to you, our loyal attendees and supporters so for that, we thank you. The Do-Over will always be a party for the people and by the people. Special thanks goes out to Peanut Butter Wolf, J.Rocc, Rhettmatic, Dam-Funk, C-Minus, House Shoes, Induce, Mixmaster Noah and Jedi for getting down at our annual Boo-Over Extravaganza. What a way to end an amazing year. Costumes were plentiful, spirits were high, and good times were had by all. On that note, it’s been real, it’s been fun, and shit, it’s been real fun, but it’s time for Aloe/Chris/Jamie to catch up on some much needed sleep. So we will see you six months from now, unless you suffer from withdrawals and would like to get done-over at one of our special one-off editions. Stay tuned for details.
“This may be the happiest, hoppiest dance party in town, and though it’s done till next summer, at least there’s Do dudes Chris Haycock, Aloe Blacc and Jamie Strong’s annual post-Thanksgiving one-off, The Left Over, to look forward to on Nov. 28. After what we saw Sunday, only a jive turkey would miss it.”
