One thing we are learning about waiting to write the recap from weeks previous: we tend to fall victim to the “oh sh*t what happened?” Lucky for us, all of our recaps tend to be reworkings in theory of the same things: “wow, The Do-Over was so insane and we all got completely leveled!”
With that, this week we got to have a couple of Do-Over first timers as well as two seasoned vets. Following Haycock’s early two hour warm-up, Vancouver friends Neoteric and U-Tern wasted no time becoming seasoned with perfect moods for the backyard boogie. Next up, Adam 12, who obviously had done the do many a time did what he does best and kept the dancefloor blazing. Finally an unexpected journey into the lesser acknowledged side of Detroit sounds from Mayer Hawthorne tipped the scales. Download the sets and see what we are talking about…

What a “doozy”! The July heat finally came through and kicked us all in the ass as the sangria (actually all drinks) seemed to go down much more quickly this week at The Do-Over. An early visit from paramedics proved once again its wise to get hydrated with the clear stuff (no, not vodka) before and during your arrival at Cranes.
With the heat means more sweat and the guest DJ’s surely added to that. Early resident styles from Haycock into a mind exploding selection from Andy Votel brought us into the jam packed madness we’ve come to expect week in and week out. Big thanks to Aussie’s Nick Toth and DJ Sheep for building the rootsy funky dancefloor vibes, followed by slippery classic soul from Mayer Hawthorne. Do-Over favorite J.Rocc arrived just in time and I’m sure you all can’t disagree. Finally, one of our favorite genius musicians Jeremy Ellis had everyone picking their jaws up off the floor following 90 minutes of live madness.
Only a couple days away, we do it again large this week. You all know to trust us with that by now. Enjoy the rest of the week and we look forward to seeing you stumbling around with us on Sunday.
