The Do-Over

The Do-Lover Recap (February 14th, 2010)

Love was definitely in the air last Sunday at our special Valentine’s Day shindig aptly named “The Do-Lover.” It was a beautiful sunshiny winter day in L.A. and Shinehead’s lover’s rock reggae introduction certainly inspired a few new paternity cases amongst the early crowd.  Cupid came in the form of a masked vinyl-wielding villain who stole everyone’s hearts with a memorable block of blue-eyed-soul hitsAdam 12 knows better than anyone that you can’t just love them and leave them alone because she’ll always want revenge. He brought just what the doctor ordered – from “One Love” to “Computer Love” he healed the broken hearted before handing it over to Jun.  And you know it ain’t no fun if the homeys can’t have none, so come get yours at The Do-Over.

The New-Over Recap (January 1, 2010)

I guess it’s safe to say our New Years Resolution of taking it easy on the ole sauce just ain’t gonna work out cuz’ we are a day late and dollar short on a recap from The New-Over. Well, it’s safe to say the hangover has finally settled and just in time to bring you the first ever Valentine’s Bash aka The Do-Lover this Sunday Feb 14th (2pm-10pm). Before we get into that though, let’s try to remember what transpired on New Years Day. We remember hitting capacity around 4pm and not much more after that. Wait… the outdoor patio and bar received a nice face lift adding some extra room (or maybe that was following The Left-Over) and oh yah, our mystery guests J.Rocc, Stretch Armstrong, Rockwell & DJ Higher absolutely destroyed it.  It was one of the craziest parties all year. Wait, that’s how we kicked the year off!? Something tells us this is going to be one crazy season (Save The Date: May 16th kickoff).

The Left-Over Recap (November 27, 2009)

Friends and family traveled from far and near for our annual post bird day romp aka The Left-Over. If you’ve had the pleasure of attending any of our one-off events, you’ve come to learn that these are some of the most fun Do-Over’s to experience. Well, this year’s Left-Over definitely lived up to those expectations. With each passing season, the bar itself takes on a new life and identity of its own. Attendees were treated to the next phase of Cranes, which included a remodeled outside patio giving it a Brooklyn-esque feel. As for the party itself, it was a nonstop rug cutting affair with $mall Change making his annual pilgrimage from NYC to get down alongside fellow New Yorker JT Donaldson, KCRW’s Jeremy Sole and Rhettmatic featuring Eric Bobo on percussion who had the crowd in a dancing frenzy (Rhett even made a cameo on percussion!).

Save The Date: Friday, January 1st. The New-Over.

If you attended our first ever New Years Day party last year, you know it’s not worth missing. That was probably our craziest party all year and in the history of Do-Over. This year we will top it bigger and bigger.
