The Do-Over

Take one part hangover, one part last minute surprise guest DJ we didn’t even know about, one part Haycocks’ sister Eleanor’s birthday and many parts the people that shared the day with us and you get a recipe for explosions at our Sunday backyard boogie down.

The heat keeps rising in August. Rising to a point where the shit is nearly boiling over. Another huge day led to many a sad face come Monday morning. In typical fashion, Haycock set the tone followed by our good friend DJ Pubes who kept it rolling. Next up, Do-Over and Los Angeles first timer from the UK, Floating Points went deep just like his tunes. Rich Medina stepped up and kept it classy as always. Before his set he hinted that he was bringing a friend to share the duties and we flipped when we found out that compadre was the one and only DJ Scratch! Wow! Big ups to our homie DJ Mel who had to follow these guys… Mel totally stepped in large and perhaps captured the best set of the whole 8 hours. Special thanks to Azul for holding down the host duties again.

What’cha Wanna Do?

It’s hard to fathom we are only approaching Week 8 and we’ve already had as much fun in this short time span than entire Season’s in the past. Thanks in large part to you, our loyal Do-Over familia who bring the positive vibes each week and enjoy doin’ your weekend over and over and over again. This was quite evident Sunday as the sangria was flowing early as folks took full advantage of the special. Despite the early spills, stains & sweat, you and Fonzworth Bentley (!?) charged through to experience another classic edition of The Do! Special thanks go out to our mystery guests: C-Minus, Gabe Rene, A-Ski, DJ Nobody & DJ Pubes who took us on a journey from disco to house, rock to rap, beats and breaks.

As we get ready to embark upon this Holiday weekend, The Do-Over plans to make sure the fireworks continue through Sunday as we have lined up another heavyweight session including some special guests from the right coast. Get in to fit in.
